Do you do the daily crossword puzzle? I do, in pencil on the Plain-Dealer. Or online on USAtoday.com when I don't have the morning paper. idk, I think I'm the only person under 70 who still does the crossword puzzle.
Why is Yahoo! Daily Crossword So Repetitive? Seems like every other day the answers to the clues have to do with Owen Wilson, "He's Just Not That Into You", Homer Simpson's outburst, among other things; do the people who make up these crossword puzzles think we're so simple-minded that we can't figure these same clues out several times in a short period, or are they so limited on ideas for the puzzles they don't know what else to do? Either way, a little more variety and challenges wouldn't hurt here, especially if you do the crossword puzzles regularly like I do.
When reading your daily newspaper, what do you enjoy most ? I always enjoy reading the "happy news" & yes, there still is such a thing. I do the "Word Scramble" & the Crossword Puzzles" next. If there are recipes in the newspaper, I read the ones that sound really good. I cut them out & make it a point to try them once. If it's a hit, I pass the recipe on to family.

Why will my web sites not open completely? When I go to certain web-sites to enter sweeps such as Candystand.com or Planters.com, the web sites do not complete opening sometimes stopping with 1 or 2 items showing as remaining in the left side bottom. Many stops things just stop and the monitor icons in lower right system tray stop glowing lite blue and turn dark blue (not receiving or sending data). Sometimes the web page opens, but the normal bottom moves to the top and what should have been at the top was the entry page. Also on Arcamax Publishing when I attempt to do my daily crossword puzzle, puzzle comes up and then immediately vanishes while the bottom part of the site moves upward to take its place. And, I see today that I cannot even do an avatar as the preview screen will not display anything. Just can't seem to find an answer from anyone.
What is your most productive hour of the day? What hour do you find that you get the most things accomplished? And what are they? Today my lunch hour was very productive. I went home, ate lunch, emptied the dishwasher, loaded dirty dishes into the dishwasher, completed the daily crossword puzzle (short one word), brushed my teeth, made eye appointments for our family, let the dog out, got the mail, let the dog in, and put the garbage bins back into the garage! Not bad for one hour, huh?
"To a poet" in a crossword? I just started doing the daily crossword in the newspaper and I keep coming across questions with "_____ , to a poet" like "above, to a poet' what does that mean? Thank you!!!

Would this be good for increasing my intelligence? Im interested in increasing my overall intelligence, and I was wondering how would I go about creating a workout schedule for exercising my mind using reading, sudoku, crossword puzzles, math problems, and classical music. Should I do all of these things on a daily basis or do one on a certain day and the other the next day any help will be greatly appreciated.
Prize crosswords: what are your chances of winning? It will depend on the circulation and degree of difficulty. I'd like to know how many entries they get on average for: 1 Radio Times, 2 Mail on Sunday (£1500), and 3 Scottish Daily Record (£500, Tuesdays and Sats). The Listener was reckoned to be the hardest, and in the 1950s its circulation was about 150,000. The average number of entries was variously reported as 200 and 440. In 1991 The Listener closed and the crossword transferred to The Times (Books section, Sats). The average weekly entry is 600, which is about 1/1000 of the circulation. By that reckoning and based on circulations, the average number of entries for the 3 examples I quoted would be Radio Times 1000, Mail on Sunday 2300, and Daily Record 620. But does anyone KNOW any of these figures?

did anyone ever do this experiment? In Richard Linklater's Waking Life (2001) two of the characters discuss the idea synchronicity. They mention an experiment where people were isolated and given daily crosswords. If the crossword puzzles were a day old, meaning that thousands of people had already completed them, then people found it easier to get the answers - because the answers were already 'out there' in the collective memory of course. did anyone ever really do this experiment, or anything like it, and what are the references? I'm not expecting that it would really produce a significant effect, but I'd still love to know if anyone has tried it
